PARTUS Gyno Bitch Tits
KUNSTRAUM NIEDERÖSTERREICH, 2021
Solo Exhibition, Curated by Katharina Brandl
Partus Gyno Bitch Tits elaborates on queer nursing practices to outline non-binary imaginaries that exceed gendered catego- ries. The installation opens up notions of Queer Nursing (Liesel Burisch, 2020), addressing gendered disparities of re- productive labor.
The work displays the synthesis of a since 2017 ongoing artistic research on breastfeeding, biologism, biohacking, reproductive fantasies, iden- tity politics, molecular feminism, induced lactation and male lactation. Through looking at various culture historical refer- cences and practices like induced lacta- tion, milk-sharing networks, parenting of same-sex couples, adoptive parenting or cross-species nursing, an array of multi-facetted nursing practices emerge. Partus Gyno Bitch Tits focuses on collective, multigener-ational, multi-gendered nursing practices and demands infra-structures of care, aiming towards supporting collective care.
